The weather is not cooperating the way we'd like for this time of year but I was able to get out a few times to do some scouting. On one occasion I was able to pick up a couple of short striped bass trolling in deeper water.
On another outing I located my first black sea bass and fluke of the season. Speaking of fluke, that season officially opened on Tuesday May 19th. I expect to see a lot of boats drifting for that very popular and tasty fish the next time I'm out.
It looks like the upcoming weekend will be warmer with less wind so let's hope it's the start of good things to come.
