The 2016 season is just getting underway. Old Man Winter is hanging on just enough to keep the water temps. below normal for this time of year so very few fish have
arrived in our area yet.
May 1st was opening day for porgy and black sea bass and May 17 will be the opener for fluke.
Striped bass have been active in the Housatonic River and more recently in the western end of Long Island Sound.
The migration has begun.
As soon as we have a week or two of warmer days, the water temps. will be more conducive for fish to move in.
